Mount Abu(Rajasthan) : Programme on World Diabetes Day at Global Hospital

On the eve of World Diabetes Day, a special programme was organised at the Auditorium of Global Hospital, Mount Abu. Addressing the occasion, CRPF Training Academy Director General KS Bhandari told that Diabetes is a silent killer. To get rid of this silent killer it is time to change our lifestyle.

Mr Bhandari further added that the programme on diabetes organised by Global Hospital, Mount Abu benefits people of all age groups.

Director of Global Hospital Dr Pratap Midha mentioned that diabetes takes a toll of one million every year. Strict changes in lifestyle, hard labour, regular exercise and a regulated diet can relieve from this disease.

Speaking on the global concern about diabetes Senior Diabetologist Dr Shrimant Sahu told that every twenty seconds, a diabetic victim’s leg is amputated to save his life. About eight percent people suffer from cardiovascular diseases due to diabetes. Dr Sahu presented a PowerPoint programme demonstrating the harmful effects of diabetes and how to overcome them.

Dr Binny Sareen also mentioned that a balanced diet, physical exercise, positive thought, regular Rajayoga Meditation and Pranayama etc. can also help a person get rid of diabetes. Dignitaries from cross sections of Abu participated in the programme.
